Browse used bandsaw machines — C-frame, pillar (double-column), manual/semi-auto/automatic. Cutting capacity round & rect. Indian & imported.
A bandsaw machine uses a continuous toothed blade running over two driven wheels to cut metal stock — bars, billets, structural sections, and tubing — into specific lengths for further machining. Bandsaws are the standard first-operation machine in any production environment: they cut accurately to near-final length with minimal material waste (a narrow kerf vs. an abrasive cut-off disc) and can handle round, rectangular, and profiled stock with the same blade. The machine types are C-frame (single-column, compact, suited for lighter section cutting) and pillar or double-column (heavier, more rigid, better for large section and high-volume cutting).
The primary specifications are cutting capacity — both round (90° and 45°) and rectangular (90° and 45°) — which define the maximum stock the machine can sever in a single cut. Feed automation (manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic with programmable cut count and length feed) determines how much operator attention the machine requires per cut. Blade speed (in m/min) is matched to material: lower speeds for hard steels, higher speeds for aluminum and non-ferrous. Vice clamping type (manual vs. hydraulic) affects both speed and clamping force on odd-section shapes.
Machine City stocks used bandsaw machines from Indian manufacturers (Kasto, Pilous, Cosen licensees) as well as imported European and Taiwanese machines. A mid-size automatic double-column bandsaw running production cuts of 200–400 mm round is one of the most cost-effective productivity investments for any bar-cutting operation.

Buyer’s Guide
Verify cutting capacity at both 90° (straight cut) and 45° (miter cut). These are always smaller at 45°. Confirm the listed capacity matches your largest stock section.
Inspect the blade guide inserts (carbide or hardened steel). Worn guides cause blade wander and poor surface finish on the cut. Replacement guides are inexpensive but indicate overall machine wear level.
Inspect both drive wheels for flat spots, cracks, or excessive groove wear where the blade seats. Check the blade tension adjustment mechanism — proper blade tension is critical to straight cutting.
For semi-automatic and automatic machines, run the hydraulic feed system through a complete cut cycle. The feed rate control valve should give smooth, consistent blade descent. Check limit switches for cut completion and blade guard retract.
On hydraulic vice machines, verify clamping pressure holds under simulated cutting load. A vice that slips causes blade damage and crooked cuts. Check the hydraulic unit for leaks and fluid level.

Confirm blade speed selection options. A single fixed-speed machine limits material flexibility. Variable or multi-step blade speed allows cutting steel, aluminum, and stainless with appropriate surface speeds.
On pillar-type bandsaws, check column alignment and the distance between columns. The saw frame must remain square under blade tension and cutting load. Any twist in the frame produces taper on the cut face.
